Do I dare even say the word finals? Or should I just skip past it and say they don't exist like the Boogie Man or some fictional character? But nonetheless it's too late and I've already said it so I have to stick with it. No matter what year you are, or how long you've been out of college I'm pretty sure we've all had these same thoughts during the hell of a week that's called: Finals... Bom bom bom... *queue the flash of lighting and the scary music.*

1. Oh shit, it's finals week already?

We've all had one of those 'oh shit' moments in college, but this is probably the most scariest moments.. Rather than that moment when you see your friend fall off the table because she's really had one too many drinks... and it's only 4PM.

2. What does this question even mean?!?!?! Is this even English?!?!?!

The professor might not speak English but the test is definitely written in English, but somehow it seems like Spanish or something.

3. Was this even on the study guide?!?!?

Me: Nope. Nope. Nope. This wasn't on the study guide... I can't do this. Nope. I'm done.

Kid next to me: Yeah, we learned it 2 weeks ago. Do you not remember?

4. I'm gonna start studying

That's the biggest lie ever said. We all know that's code for watching Netflix and forgetting all responsibilities.

5. What day is it?

If you're questioning this on Day 1 of Finals Week, then you're in for hell of a week. Sorry bruh.

6. Can I just drop out of college

I'll just marry well.. Or become an exotic dancer
(not a stripper, but an exotic dancer- those are more classy)

7. Why am I in college again?

Everyone says college is knowledge but is it really worth the stress, money and my social life?

8. I hate short responses

Do professors or TAs even wanna read my short answer? Or do they just wanna see if I wrote something?

9. Is it Summer yet?

Summer feels like it's millenniums away. Maybe Summer doesn't even exist... Is Summer not a season anymore?

10. That wasn't that hard....

Look at that, you made it past Finals. Now it's time to live for the summer!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
