College is a unique experience for everyone that attends. Although summer break has come to an end, it means we get to go back to college. It's fun to begin a new semester while meeting new people, but during the first few days of classes, the real struggles of a college student will come out. Here's 10 thoughts I have (that you might to) as we go back to school.

1. "Wow, I am out of shape."

Whether you go to school on a small campus or a big campus, you're going to do a lot of walking. Most likely more walking than you were used to during the summer which you spent watching Netflix on the couch. The first few days or even weeks, you might be sore or a little out of breath just from walking to and from places on campus. It's okay, it happens to the best of us.

2. "Why are books so expensive?"

Unlike high school, in college, the burden of purchasing textbooks is now put on your shoulders. Although, there are some cheaper options for getting your books, such as renting, they still won't be cheap. Your class may require 2 or 3 books just for 1 class, then multiply that by the other 5 classes you're taking. It adds up and textbooks are expensive.

3. "I really hope I know someone in this class."

While you're walking to your new classes, it's normal to get those nervous butterflies. If you're lucky enough, when you walk into your class, you'll get that sense of relief when you see someone you know. Not only will you have a familiar face to sit next to, but also someone you know you can count on when you need some help throughout the semester.

4. "I pray that I have a good professor."

All professors have a different teaching style. In my opinion, 'lecture style' is the worst one. Lecture style teaching is when the professor literally just stands in front of the class the entire time just talking. No writing on the board, no power point presentation, no worksheets, just talking. You're never going to look forward going to a class if all you're doing is just staring at your professor, especially not the first few days of classes.

5. "How many things can I accomplish during the breaks between my classes?"

During the time between classes, you're going to find yourself trying to squeeze in as many things as possible. Will you have time for a nap? Do you have time to eat? Do you have time to study? Just don't be late to your next class.

6. "I better write this in my planner."

Whether you actually look back at all those deadlines or meetings in your planner, is a different story... but, staying organized in school is a great way to become successful.

7. "What time should I set my alarm?"

If you're anything like me, you're not a morning person. Try to give yourself enough time in the mornings to get ready, maybe eat something, and check to make sure you have everything you need for your classes.

8. "How many hours of sleep can I get the night before, so I won't be tired tomorrow?"

In college or as a teenager, it's normal to go to sleep late. It may not be recommended, but we all do it. You know yourself best, so try to allow yourself enough sleep so you will actually be productive the next day.

9. "I wonder if my parents would like to know about my day."

I'm very close to my family and when I encounter new experiences, they're the first people I want to tell. I actually look forward to ranting on and on to my mom at the end of the first few days of classes. Sometimes, I might even call her so much that I feel like I'm bothering her. Oh well, I'll still continue to call her to tell her all about my days at school.

10. "I hope I didn't overcommit myself."

As we begin the new semester, it can be overwhelming. At times, you might question whether you're going to be able to handle everything. Don't stress yourself out quite yet. Start out positive, you can do this!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
