10 Weekday Thoughts Every College Girl Has Leading Up To Thirsty Thursdays

If you can make it through a chemistry class while mentally planning what you're wearing out that night, you can make it through anything.

By the time Thursday comes around, most of us are more than ready to begin the weekend.

Especially if you have plans to go out on a Thursday night, Thursday day itself can feel like it's just dragging on endlessly. For that reason, it can be difficult to focus on your normal activities throughout a Thursday, whether that means that you suddenly find yourself planning a whole outfit for the night in the middle of your astronomy lab class, or maybe you just find yourself becoming extra annoyed by the loud breathing noises the person next to you is making. Basically, it can be hard to focus on a Thursday.

Below, 10 thoughts girls have during Thursday classes if they're going out right after:

1. "When will this class be over?"

Is this the longest class to ever exist or is it just my imagination? Maybe that clock is broken?

2. "Wait, should I go out or work on that paper?"

To be honest, I really should work on that paper...and that quiz...and start studying for that midterm.

3. "Nope, I'm going out."

The other things will have to wait. I'll probably have time to work on them, tomorrow, right?

4. "Should I shower before I go?"

If I have enough time I gotta shower. But if I'm in a rush I'm going to put my hair up as soon as I'm actually out and just pretend I got hot really quickly.

5. "What should I wear tonight?"

Do I wear that black top that looks really good on, but I wear it all the time-or do I wear that new grey shirt I just got? Realistically, it will probably be the black one.

6. "Okay, so I know what I'm wearing but which shoes go with that outfit?"

Shoes can change the entire outfit. This is a very big decision.

7. "Do I go to my 8:30 class tomorrow?"

Guess I'll have to wait and see how tonight goes! Plus, I know there's a 9:40 section I can try to go to, instead.

8. "Will I see *that guy* tonight?"

I should definitely shower, just in case I do. Ponytail probably isn't going to cut it.

9. "Seriously, how much longer is this class?"

Why is nobody checking to make sure the clock in here is actually working. I'm pretty sure it stopped working about half an hour ago. Just saying.

10. "Finally."

Now that classes are over, your weekend can (sort of) officially begin. It's a good feeling.

One thing is clear: if you can make it through a whole day of Thursday classes, between dealing with the slowest clocks to ever exist and the stress of mentally planning an outfit even while you're in the middle of chemistry, you can do anything.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
