As winter break comes to a close, everyone is so excited to go back to college. We will be able to see our friends and get back into the swing of things, but there are a lot of things that college students are not looking forward to going back to...

1. Home Cooked Food

There is absolutely nothing better than your parents home cooked food. Whether it's a good steak or real fruit and vegetables. Dining hall food really stinks and no one wants to go back to eating it daily.

2. Your Own Bed

Your bed at home is the comfiest thing and you can always fall asleep so quickly in it. Also going from a little twin bed to a bigger and more comfortable bed at home makes going home so much better. RIP to sleeping soundly.

3. Family

Going home and hanging out with your family after not seeing them for so long makes your heart so happy. Seeing your parents, siblings, cousins, aunts/uncles, and grandparents make you realize how much you miss them when you're away at college.

4. Friends From Home

Seeing your friends from home brings back so many memories from high school and growing up. There is nothing better than catching up with your friends about all the crazy college memories you have made throughout the semester. And spending a few weeks with them at home makes it even easier to miss them when you're gone.

5. No Class and Homework

Although college is designed to give us all an education, but classes and homework can get really annoying. So going home is just that much sweeter without work to do. Take advantage of all the time you can spend on the couch eating as many snacks as possible.

6. TV

At college we can only watch TV or Netflix on our tiny little TVs or laptops, so going home is very nice being able to watch your show on a big TV. Also having DVR at home means being able to watch your favorite shows whenever you want to.

7. Your Own Shower

No shower shoes!!!! College bathrooms are not the cleanest or the nicest and having to shower with shoes on is a huge pain. Therefore, coming home makes you realize how much you miss your own bathroom.

8. Pets

College makes you really miss your pets. There is nothing better than cuddling with your dog or cat.

9. Driving

Being able to drive anywhere at anytime is so nice. Being at college for so long makes you miss driving. When you're home you can take advantage of every late night ice cream run. You'll actually want to do all of the little errands that your mom or dad needs you to do.

10. Privacy

Living with a roommate makes you really miss having your own room. So going home lets enjoy of all the quiet time you can get.

There is really no place like home.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
