Your head suddenly picks class time to go into deep thoughts, and you find yourself thinking about the following:
1. The Future.
The future is a scary thing, because we never know what's going to happen, tomorrow, in a month, in a year, in five years. Therefore, we constantly think about different scenarios that our life can turn out to be like.
- "Will I get a good job after graduation?"
- "Will I graduate on time?"
- "Will I be happy with my life?"
- "What am I going to do this weekend?"
2. Being rich and famous.
A tiny part of us wants to know what the life of the rich and famous is really like. You can be on Ellen and get free stuff from noticeable designers, sit front row in fashion shows, travel anywhere, buy anything you want, and flaunt your pretty/expensive outfits on the red carpet.
3. Assignments.
You start thinking about all the homework you have and the papers you have to write.
- "Do I have enough time until the due date?"
- "I should make a, to do list. Be organized!"
- "I don't even understand what this paper has to be about."
- "I should probably go to tutoring."
- "Ugh, that means I can't have a social life until then."
4. Life changing decisions.
Sometimes, that one decision you have to make is on your mind all day. At some point of the day, you have to choose what to do, and it just happens to be while you are in class.
- "I think I'm going to change my major."
- "I'll just drop out."
- "I'm going to quit my job."
- "I'm going to use all of my savings to buy a car."
5. The cute boy/girl in class.
Don't pretend that you don't think about that one attractive boy/girl in class.
- "He/she is cute, he/she probably has a girlfriend/boyfriend."
- "I should go for it."
- "He/she is not going to like me like that, though."
- "Let's just be friends and admire your beauty in a friendly way."
6. The professor.
You might find yourself thinking at times about the person who gives you knowledge, once or twice a week, and whose class you are not paying attention to at the moment.
- "He/she is so boring."
- "I'm pretty sure he/she doesn't like me, he gave me a B on my paper!"
- "I hope he/she lets us out early."
- "What made him/her be a professor?"
- "I wonder if he/she is happy with her life."
7. The past.
Just like we think about the future, we also think about the past. For some reason we can't let go of the past because of the mistakes we made. But sometimes it's a good past, so why not reminisce ... while in class?
- "I shouldn't have spent so much money on clothes, now I'm broke!"
- "I should've studied for that test."
- "What if I didn't break up with him/her?"
- "Last weekend was so much fun."
- "My trip to Europe last summer was the best time of my life!"
8. What's next for your favorite TV show.
You become emotionally attached to a show and it sometimes leaves you wondering. You start thinking of every possible outcome that can happen in the next episode.
- "Is so and so going to get together?"
- "He/she is so going to die!"
- "When are we going to meet the mother?"
- "Who is Gossip Girl?"
- "Who the hell is A?"
9. Food.
The most important thing in the life of a college student is food. You are in class and you can't wait to get out, just so you can get FOOD! Some even think what their meals are going to be for the rest of the day.
