Let's face it, the year is 2017 and the young adults of this generation have no clue what we are doing. While we are the most motivated generation for equality and acceptance that has come about in many years, something that I could not be prouder of, we have absolutely no idea how to handle normal adult life. We are scared of simple everyday tasks and feelings, and, compared to generations before, we are grossly behind on the learning curve for our age group. This of course does not apply to everyone, and it is also not meant to shame those that do match. Hopefully this list will push those who need it to conquer some of their fears.

1. Cooking a meal by yourself.

As someone who holds the act of cooking to an exceptionally high standard, I firmly believe that by the age of twentyat the latest, you should know how to cook at least one decent meal without any help. It does not need to be complicated, it could be as simple as making spaghetti and meat sauce, but believe me there will be a time when knowing a recipe will come in handy.

2. Know how to make, and follow, a budget.

I think we are all guilty of struggling with this one at some point, the best thing to do would be ignoring that inner voice that is whispering, "treat yo self."

3. Calling the doctor, or any other place you don't know.

The worst they can do is ask you a question you don't know the answer to, just breath and if you need to call them back, they will only think you are a little weird, I promise.

4. Going places by yourself.

In lieu of the rape culture explosion, no one blames you for not wanting to expose yourself to possible harm, but please do not allow fear to keep you from doing something you enjoy.

5. Being single.

This one ties into the last. If you are only looking for a partner to have someone around so you are not alone, then don't bother. This also applies to being in a relationship, don't be afraid to care for someone else.

6. Doing what makes you happy.

If you have a toxic friend, or family member, that constantly puts you down then let them go. If you want to make a change in your life then do it, if you think that something is for the best then go for it, don't hold back.

7. Other people's expectations.

Most of the time they only have your best interests at heart, but know that you don't have to worry about letting them down, they will adjust. Don't add more stress to yourself.

8. Adjusting to change.

Given that you have at least made it to twenty you have probably faced some big changes in your life, and all of them may not have been good. Still, you have survived, and will continue to do so no matter what comes your way.

9. Having responsibility.

Sometimes it sucks, sometimes it's the best thing that could happen to you. Regardless you will get through it, and learn to deal with it.

10. Open-mindedness.

It's 2017, the year of accepting those as they come, or at least we hope. Given the current attitude of some fellow country members, having the courage to be open-minded is scary, even more so to speak about it. To remain closed off though, hurts others as well as yourself, so don't be afraid to speak up against injustice.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
