10 Things You Should Know About Country Duo Dan + Shay
Rob Norris

You're probably wondering who this country duo is. Well, they are two amazing guys you should definitely know about. The duo is made up of Dan Smyers, 28, and Shay Mooney, 23. They are super sweet guys that love making music, adopting dogs, and spending time with family, friends, and fans.

The two met at a party that Smyers was hosting in December of 2012. They just started jamming out on guitars in the tent until three or four in the morning with a few of their friends, who now happen to be members of the band. The tent in the house was basically made out of blankets and sheets that Smyers found at a thrift store, because his house was very humble and it had no heat or locks on the doors. He hung up the blankets and sheets around his TV in his living room to make a tent to keep the heat in.

After that, things happened pretty dang fast for them. They wrote almost every single day after that. Just two months later, they were signing a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music. They then earned themselves a record deal with Warner Music Nashville. Smyers and Mooney had gotten two of the songs they had written put on hold for Rascal Flatts' new album Rewind. Soon after, the two were signed to their debut single. 19 You + Me was released, and it soared up the charts. Their debut album has been the first album ever by a Country Duo to debut at Number one on the Billboard charts. Since then they've only gotten bigger and better. So here's 10 things you probably should know about the Country Duo called Dan + Shay.

1. James is actually Shay's first name, but he goes by his middle name, Shay.

2. Dan has two adorable dogs called Joy and Chief, and they have their own Instagram!

3. Dan LOVES animals, dogs especially!

4. They like dressing up on stage some nights.

5. They absolutely love taking a picture of the crowd making the + sign EVERY NIGHT.

6. They have an amazing manager, his name is Chase. He's everyone's favorite.

7. They LOVE interacting with fans by doing #AskDanAndShay sessions on twitter.

8. They LOVE getting creative presents from fans, and seeing how the fans work together to make them.

9. They are some of the humblest, funniest, sweetest, and most loving guys you will ever meet!

10. They have the most loving and caring team, fan base, and families you will ever meet.

With that being said go give them a follow on Twitter (Band, Dan, + Shay), Facebook, Instagram (Band, Dan, + Shay), + Vine at @DanAndShay.

You can check out their music on Spotify, Google Play Store, ITunes, and wherever music is sold.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
