Palos Heights is located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Living here almost my whole life I've heard some things only people from Palos will know what you are talking about. Here are some of Palos Heights' most common phrases and past times.

1. "Let’s go get some Pop’s."

Best French fries in town! You get a ton of food for your money and tend to know at least one neighborhood kid that works there.

2. "Plush horse?"

Plush Horse is a go-to spot in the summer. Best ice cream, and it’s all homemade. You always take a picture of, or with the horse when going there.

3. "We want Ben Franklin back."

The store that literally had EVERYTHING!!! We need it back!!

4. "I can’t find it in Jewel."

With the new Jewel, I’m still searching where things are since this change.

5. "McDonald’s service sucks!"

It takes about 20 minutes to get a cone of ice cream from them. (Sorry if you work at this McDonald’s but not sorry cause I’ve waited over 20 minutes for ice cream.)

6. "Julianni’s is the best place to go for big parties!"

Best pizza in town, there is no doubt about that. They always have great service and it’s always a fun time.

7. "PBO tonight?"

In middle school, the hangout was always the PBO fields. It doesn’t matter what little group you were in during those middle school days, you always found yourself hanging around PBO.

8. "What’s the prettiest thing in Palos?" "Lake Katherine."

Lake Katherine is always the place you go when you need to relax in nature. It is the best place to walk and just relax!

9. "The cops have nothing better to do than to sit on Harlem."

Whenever you drive down Harlem you KNOW there are going to be cops just waiting to pull you over.

10. The local college kid weekend hangouts: Joe Daniels, Rooftop Tap, X’s & O’s & occasionally Mister Moe’s.

You are bound to run into someone you don’t want to see on the weekends at these places. Especially in the summer, these are the hangouts for all the college kids.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. 6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
