10 Things You Never Thanked Your Guy Best Friend For

Having a guy best friend is definitely one of the better things in life. They're a special kind of friend, not the type you go to Starbucks with (they will, but you'll have to drag them there). Girls who have them know how great they are; they're the best type of friends. Yet, we sometimes forget to thank them for dealing with our craziness. Here are 10 things we’ve never thanked them for.

1. Being completely, utterly, honest with you

Sorry girls, but your girlfriends might say you look great in that dress, but your guy best friend is gonna tell you how you actually look. Good or bad, he’s going to let you know.

2. Basically a personal guy interpreter

Getting mixed signals, weird texts, not even remotely close to understand what this dude is saying? Your guy best friend has it covered. He’ll let you know what this guy actually is saying/wanting. Which is a relief cause we all know we’d never figure it out.

3. A protective brother

Whether you like it or not, he’s going to be protective of you. He’s basically your brother at this point, how can he not be a little suspicious of the new guy you’re talking to? Even the girls who talk about you, he’s going to be protective. Which in the long run, is a great thing.

4. For letting you be one of the guys

Dealing with all the girl crap can get ridiculously tiring. Remember to thank him for letting you roll with the boys.

5. Not causing extra drama in your life

With all the other drama and problems you’re dealing with, he’ll never give you any more. He wouldn’t want to anyway, he’d have to listen to it even more.

6. Dealing with your driving skills

I may have killed us once or twice, and by that I mean maybe a couple of hundred times.

7. Having a good sense of humor

Girls can be so sensitive, it can be hard to joke around. Thanks for letting me throw shots at you, but of course throwing them right back.

8. Being your partner in crime

We all know most of our friends would never be up for the challenge, but your guy best friend always is.

9. For letting you complain

When you just have to talk bad about some dumb girl in you marketing 101 class. I know you don’t want to hear it, but thank you for listening.

10. Helping you out

Whether it's helping you fix your car or your life. Thanks for always helping me out.

11. For just being a damn good friend

Thanks for knowing how crazy I am and still being my friend anyway.

Thanks bro, I appreciate it.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.

Here are some "Parks and Rec" moments that relate to life struggles that just about everyone faces.

April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation is notorious for her "I don't care" attitude. She speaks her mind without caring what anyone thinks of her. Fans love her because she isn't afraid to be herself. April can seem cold and negative, but she's really just fearless and strong-minded. And despite her sometimes harsh words, April truly cares about the people she's closest to. These are all reasons she is the epitome of a college student. April complains whenever she has to do any kind of work, but ends up doing the work anyway. April Ludgate is the ultimate college student spirit animal.
