10 Things You Must Watch On Netflix After Finals
Business Pundit

For must of us, finals week is here, which is a terrifying thought. I don't know about you, but after a long week of tests and papers, I need to lay in bed and go nuts on Netflix. If you are thinking of doing the same thing, here's a list I put together of my Netflix faves to help you binge-watch in a snap. Happy Binge-Watching and Congratulations on completing another semester! You did it!

"The Last Five Years" (Movie)

This movie blew my mind. If you're into movie musicals and having a billion emotions in the matter of a couple hours, this movie is for you. Based off an Off-Broadway musical, this movie has everything: songs that will make you laugh/cry/all of the above, a SUPER hot male lead, and everyone's favorite quirky actress--Anna freakin' Kendrick. Pro tip: Keep a tissue box nearby. You'll need it.

"New Girl" (TV Show)

If you haven't watched "New Girl" at all, WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING?! This FOX situation comedy is, in my opinion, the best show ever. Starring Zooey Deschanel, the show follows Jessica Day in her everyday life. Oh, but she lives with three guy roommates, has a model best friend, and has a zany love life. It's the best and I highly suggest you binge-watch it. Pro tip: Try not to fall in love with Jake Johnson. I dare you.

"The Comeback Kid" (Stand-up Comedy)

I love stand-up comedy specials, but I am very picky about who I like. Chicago-native John Mulaney came out with this Netflix special in 2015 and I have watched it at least 90 times since then. His comedy is very witty and underappreciated. If you like topics focusing on being an altar boy, meeting Bill Clinton, or having a dog that judges you---John's comedy is for you. Pro tip: Follow him on Instagram for awesome photos of his wife, dog, and hit Broadway show "Oh, Hello" with Nick Kroll: @johnmulaney

"Parks and Recreation" (TV Show)

Although this show has been off the air for a hot second, every single episode is still hilarious and relevant. When I first starting watching "Parks and Rec", I watched it for Amy Poehler. After loving it for years, I know realize how spectacular the entire cast was. Think about it: Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, Rob Lowe, Adam Scott-----that is an AMAZING cast. With that said, it is an AMAZING show. Pro tip: You will laugh so much, you will cry. Just...prepare yourself for that.

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (TV Show)

To be honest, I had no idea what this show was about before I started watching it. It kept popping up on the "Top Picks for You" section of Netflix and I kept ignoring it. I was an idiot. This show is not only unique, but it is what some may call a "once in a lifetime experience". If you like musicals, lovable characters, comedies, and falling in love with characters---this show is for you. Pro tip: The songs are so catchy. You will sing them all day, every day.

"White Chicks" (Movie)

One of the most quotable movies of my generation, "White Chicks" challenges every audience to not pee themselves when laughing. I'm hoping all of you have already watched this, but if you haven't, it is definitely a must-watch. The story-line is genius and the comedy is quick and witty. Pro tip: Watch it with your parent(s) for maximum laughter.

"Charlotte's Web" (Movie)

After finals week, I need to let out a sigh and cry for an hour and 37 minutes. You can do that if you watch this movie! I remember watching this with my mom when it came out and sobbing for a solid two days. This is a classic. The book is a classic. It is an adorable G-rated film that takes me back to my childhood aka the times when I didn't have to worry about college papers. Pro tip: The tissue box from "The Last Five Years"? Yeah, bring it back.

"Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids" (Full Concert)

When I found out this concert was on Netflix, I screamed. Then, my mom rushed to my room to see if I was okay. Then, she yelled at me for scaring her. Anyway, this is AMAZING. If you are a JT fan, this Netflix special takes you behind-the-scenes of his last concert during his "The 20/20 Experience" tour. If you loved "Mirrors" and "Suit & Tie", you will love this. You get a front row seat to not just this concert, but his entire crew of talented musicians and dancers. Pro tip: Wear a suit and tie while watching this for a truly fulfilled experience.

"30 Rock" (TV Show)

It's Tina Fey. Must I say more? "30 Rock" is an epic parody of Saturday Night Live, with original story-lines and a hilarious cast. In other words, if you love SNL, a will they-won't they relationship between characters, and Tina Fey's glasses---this show is for you. Pro tip: Make a drinking game out of it! Whenever Tina Fey is absolute perfection, drink! (drink responsibly....and legally!)

"How I Met Your Mother" (TV Show)

I loved this show since the beginning and I am forever grateful that all 9 seasons are on Netflix. I may be biased, because I may or may not be in love with Josh Radnor...but nonetheless, this show has everything: complicated relationships, great character dynamics, quotable moments, and Neil Patrick freakin' Harris. Pro tip: Never forget: If Neil Patrick Harris is in it, it is amazing. Hellooooo, "Doogie Howser M.D.", anyone?

And that's it! I hope my top-10 Netflix faves can help you relax after a stressful week. Now, go log into your Netflix account and enjoy yourself--you deserve it!

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
