There is no place like Chagrin. If you were lucky enough to grow up there, I'm gonna bet that you can relate to these things!

1. You walked “into town” after school every Friday during the intermediate school years.

If you were really cool, you got to be a "walker" on a day other than Friday.

“No way—your mom let you do that?!”

“Yeah, want me to buy you something from Einstein's?”

2. You are more excited for Blossom weekend than for Christmas.

It’s not just a carnival. It’s Blossom.

3. Your parents went to Chagrin and/or your cousins go to Chagrin.

In rare cases your entire extended family has gone to Chagrin, and you all still live there (yes, I’m talking about you Clegg and Mahoney families).

4. The most money you’ve spent on a single item over the course of your life is on Yours Truly notso fries.

One lotso notso has 3856 calories. Let that sink in.

5. If you meet someone who says they are from Chagrin, and you find out they actually went to Kenston, you are immediately LIVID.

We take it very personally.

6. You think (you know) that the Pumpkin Roll is the coolest tradition.

What’s better than being with your 200 closest friends, smashing pumpkins down Grove Hill, and sledding on top of the guts and seeds? Nothing. Literally nothing.

7. You seriously believe that there is no tighter knit community than Chagrin.

It’s just the truth.

8. As a kid, you lived at the Rec Center during the summer.

Swimming lessons then tennis then free swim. Meet ya in the big pool!

9. Any time someone came to visit Chagrin, you showed them “The Falls” and the famous Popcorn Shop.

Did they tell you Chagrin is sooo cute? Yup, I thought so.

10. You can’t imagine any better place to grow up.

One of your proudest titles: Chagrin Falls alumni.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
