10 Things You Know to Be True If You Are The Youngest

You are the runt of the family, the last of the offspring, and most likely the "favorite" child. Being the youngest has its perks! You get to follow the path that your older siblings laid out for you. You understand things because you watched your brothers and sisters go through things first. And you always have a huge support system backing you up in everything you do.

However here are a few things the older siblings need to consider before the tell us we have it easy.

1.We are being compared to you constantly

This could mean teachers compare you to how well your siblings did in school. "Great Job on the exam you got 14/15....Your sister got 20/15" or "Why don't you act more like Becky?"

2. We will always be the baby

When your mom introduces you, its more likely than not that she says "Have you met my daughter, ________? She is my baby! Can you believe that?

3. House rules change

If you are lucky this means you don't have a curfew and you can date whoever you want, however not everyone gets lucky. Your older sibling might have liked to "have a good time" which causes more rules and stricter parents.

4. Accused of being the favorite child

DUH! That is because I am! Now this one is not all bad because its true, haven't you heard that they stopped having kids after me because I am the child of their dreams. I am perfect! However this causes your older brothers and sisters to become jealous of how spoiled you are and causes rivalries and arguments which creates distance from your siblings.

5. Being the last to know

They didn't tell you about Santa and the Easter Bunny all these years. What else are they hiding from you?

6. Most teased and ganged up on

You are the last one in the family, you missed out on inside jokes and fun adventures. You are missing in a lot of family photos because you were not born yet. However as soon as you show up, you are the center of attention for a while. And your siblings are not about that life so they tease you and they join together to become a stronger and pick on you. But that is okay because you have someone on your side too, much stronger. "MOOOOMMM!!!! Jake is picking on me!"

7. Last to do everything

Your oldest sibling got all the firsts.. first to take steps, go to kindergarten, join a sport, go to prom, have a boyfriend/girlfriend, go to college, move out, drink, get married, have kids, and so on and so on. However you are the last to go to school, go to prom, gratuate, move to college, and all these lasts are just as emotional as the first were for you and our parents.

8. NO one knows your name

You are refereed to as Joel's younger sister, Lynn..even thought that's your sisters name, and Gwen or Dave's baby.

9. You will take care of your parents

It is most likely that when your parents get old. You are the one to take the most care of them. Your siblings have already decided this for you. You have no choice.

10. You are so grateful

I am blessed to have an amazing support team that will help me with any direction I take in life. I love my family!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
