When people ask where you are from or where you live and you answer "Greenville," the response you probably get is, "Oh Greenville, South Carolina?" No no just good old Greenville, North Carolina! Whether you were born in Greenville, North Carolina or have only lived here for a short time, I bet you can relate to some if not all of these listed below.

1. Pirate football is life.

ECU football is not just a game they play in Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium, but it is a lifestyle. People live and breathe for football in Greenville. It is the best time of the year in Greenville.

2. If you grew up in Greenville, you went to one of three high schools.

You either went to Rose, Conley or South Central. If you went to a Rose or Conley, you know the rivalry in sports run deep. A lot of Greenville is centered around high school sports.

3. You know that Greenville has some of the best barbecue places in the country.

Between B's Barbecue and Parker's, there is no denying that Greenville's barbecue is the best around.

4. Greenville goes through phases.

One year it was the frozen yogurt phase and all of a sudden we had at least 6 new frozen yogurt shops. This year it is the mattress store phase. Everywhere you look there is a new mattress store.

5. Old and new movie theater.

The movie theaters do have real names but almost everyone refers to them as the old and new movie theater. People also refers to the Walmart's and Harris Teeters' as the new and old Walmart and the new and old Harris Teeter.

6. Sup Dogs.

Need I same more than just the two beautiful words? If you have ever been to Sup Dogs you know that Sup sauce is like liquid gold. Everything at Sup Dogs is amazing and defiantly one of the best places to eat in Greenville.

7. Greenville can clear out during the summer.

The days get longer and Greenville gets emptier. It starts when the college students move out and then all Pitt County schools are out and people flock to the beach for the summer.

8. ECU move in weekend is the worst weekend.

If you are not a college student and just live in Greenville this can be one of the worst if not the worst weekend in Greenville. The traffic is absolutely terrible and if you decide to go near campus you are risking getting stuck in terrible traffic.

9. There are some place you go that you will always see someone you know.

For me it is Moes and the grocery store. I can never go to either with out seeing at least one person I know.

10. As a high schooler you have probably said, "There is nothing to do in Greenville."

I may or may not have said this statement 100 times in my life. Some people even go hang out at Sonic for fun.

As I mentioned in number 10, there might not be a ton to do in Greenville, but there is no other town I would want to call my hometown. Now that I am getting ready to leave the only town I have ever known, I can truly say I am going to miss this town. It may not be the greatest city in the world, but I really do love it in Greenville, North Carolina. I hope you enjoyed this list about Greenville!!

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
