Move in day can be crazy, and it's inevitable that you forgot to get something you need. It can be a difficult task getting together everything you need for your dorm room, and it's more than likely that you'll be hitting yourself for forgetting something.

As it turns out, it IS a huge difference not living with your parents anymore. You have to remember to get yourself the little things that your parents usually already have around the house. It can be a real pain in the butt. Never fret though, this list has you covered;

1. Command strips

You probably already thought to buy all your cute decorations for the walls, but did you consider how you'd get them up there? Command strips are literally vital for college students, they don't leave holes in the walls and they're fast and easy.

2. Paper plates and plastic cutlery

You don't always think of this because you assume the dining halls will have everything for you... which is true. However, if you get food to go or eat your own food in your dorm, you'll need some of this stuff.

3. Paper towels

You're probably used to ALWAYS having these in your house. You're parents probably always keep the house stocked with paper towels. They're easy to forget to buy though, and you don't realize how much you use them until you don't have them handy.

4. Cotton balls and Q-tips

Again, you probably always have these in your bathroom. They definitely aren't the first things you think of buying, but trust me, you'll go crazy when you need to clean your ears and realize you forgot Q-tips!

5. Your own food

This might seem obvious, but it's easy to forget food. You probably have meal points or cash of some form and access to food. But some times you're just too lazy to go to the dining hall. Having food in your dorm really helps for the times you're hungry but have no time and or energy.

6. Clorox wipes

These will definitely come in handy. Don't forget, you're moving into a room that has housed many crazy college kids before you. While we'd all like to assume the rooms are really nicely cleaned, it's definitely necessary to bring these alone and wipe down some stuff before you start living in your dorm.

7. Hanging door mirror

You'll thank me later. You don't realize how great it will be to be able to check yourself out quick before you head out the door. It's definitely a nice thing to have.

8. Nail clippers

You're mom probably always had these around the house for you somewhere, and it's probably the last thing you'd think to buy for yourself, but when your nails are getting annoyingly long, your mom won't be there to hand you the nail clippers.

9. Advil

College is one giant headache. Believe me on this one, get yourself some Advil of your own, you'll need it.

10. Fan

I guess this one depends if you have air conditioning or not. But if you don't, then whatever you do don't forget to bring a fan. It's HOT the first month school, and you will drown in your own sweat if you don't have a fan.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
