10 Things You Do When You Reunite With Your Best Friend From Another College

Everyone had to say the heartbreaking goodbyes when they watched their best friend go off to another college and have the time of their lives. Although the jealousy kicked in watching them make their new friends, you know they never forgot your friendship that you both cherished. When summertime rolls around everyone is excited for new adventures with their best friend and to hear the stories about their new college life. There are 10 things that every pair of best friends does when they get home and see each other.

1. Talking about all the new friends that you have

While trying not to get jealous of all their new friends, you can't help but be excited and happy for your best friend, knowing that she's making so many friends. You are eager to hear all about her roommate, sorority, and the cute boy in her hallway. Although you're filled with excitement about how cool your BFF is, you just want to squeeze her because she is finally home.

2. Going to eat at your favorite restaurant

Chances are the food at college wasn't the greatest and didn't have all of your local restaurants. Although you both complain that you are broke nothing beats half price appetizers, Rita's or a venti frappuccino at Starbucks.

3. Seeing their family and making yourself right at home again

Her mom is your mom. You missed venting to her mom about your life and getting another perspective on things. You know her mom always has food so opening the cabinets without asking is not a question.

4. Take a Day Trip to the Beach

You both are dying for a little sun and something fun to do so you take a day trip to the beach. Nothing beats getting sunburnt with your BFF.

5. Work out

You both constantly are complaining about the freshman fifteen so you attempt to go on a run. After that lasts only about a mile you attempt to lift some weights and do some abs...and that fails. It makes you both feel good that you "worked out."

6. Shop 'til you drop (in each other's closets)

You can't wait to see all of her new college attire, going out clothes, and cute athletic wear so you take a trip over to her house to borrow a few new outfits that you missed out on all year.

7. Binge-watch Netflix

You both naturally watch the same show on Netflix, so chances are there will be a few days that you both don't leave the couch. Whether it's the heartbreak of "Grey's Anatomy" or the family feeling you get from friends, or even that high school drama from Gossip Girl, you are watching it together.

8. Making a summer bucket list

Year after year you always make a summer bucket list with your best friend. Even though you fail to complete half of them, its the thought that counts.

9. Jamming to all your new favorite songs in the car

So many new hits have come out since you last saw each other and you could drive for hours jamming out to your favorite songs. Both the new songs and the old ones are always duet.

10. Cherish the time you have together

Summer flies by and eventually once again you are saying bye to your best friend. So cherish the little time you have with her and be thankful that she is your best friend. To my BFF, i love you and thanks for making coming home so great. xoxo.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
