Colder weather, glistening lights, our Savior born in a manger, Santa in the mall, music that makes your heart smile, and cheer around every corner. Ah, Christmas! Oh, wait, what is that? Christmas is five months away? Thanks for reminding me. It's getting closer by the second! If you're like me, you don't care what month it is, just thinking about Christmas warms your heart.
1. Your Christmas tree may as well be left up all year
"Well it's January now, so we better put the tree away!" Really? Take down the tree? Just to put it back up in a mere 11 months? Why not just leave it up all year? You scrooges can take down the tree, but why is not acceptable to admire a beautiful Christmas tree in June?
2. Christmas music is appropriate all year round
I may or may not be listening to "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" right now.
3. People telling you, "You can't just skip over Thanksgiving!"
People who say this are the worst and usually only say this nonsense because they're excited about watching football games. I am well aware that Thanksgiving is in November. But tell me, what Thanksgiving music is there for me to listen to? Is there a turkey that you can get your picture taken with at the mall? Name a good Thanksgiving movie. Also yes, Thanksgiving is a very important celebration, but sorry not sorry that I'm a little more excited to celebrate something like the birth of Jesus Christ.
4. October 1st is basically Christmas 1st
Again, yes I love Halloween and Thanksgiving, but as soon as the calendar says October, it's Christmas all day every day for me. There is no such thing as too much celebrating.
5.Hallmark Christmas movies
Okay, these movies are typically super cheesy. They're all basically the same movie told a different way, but who cares? If there's a Christmas tree somewhere in sight, you've got to watch it.
6. You know that Christmas really is "the most wonderful time of the year"
As a Christmas lover, Christmas magic doesn't stop just because you've gotten older. Christmas really is a time when kindness is everywhere. We're preparing to celebrate one of the purest and most beautiful things to ever happen in history. What is more wonderful than that?
7. Hobby Lobby
They do not play when it comes to Christmas.
8. Peppermint and gingerbread everything
Cookies, peppermint bark, hot chocolate, coffee. Everything must taste like Christmas.
9. Starbucks Christmas Cups/Drinks
Red cup, Christmas cup, whatever.
10. The smell of Christmas
Scent is a powerful thing. For a Christmas lover, whether it's peppermint, caramel, marshmallow, or that classic Christmas tree smell, once you smell one of these your brain immediately goes into full on Chrismtas mode (if you somehow weren't already in it, that is).
