With a simple avocado you can create various types of meals. Not only are they really good for you, because of the numerous nutrients and vitamins that they contain, but they also have a unique consistency that lends itself to multiple recipes. Whether you want a meal or a snack, you should give these recipes a try!

(And while you're preparing these tasty treats listen to this mood music!)

1. Avocado toast.

This minimalistic recipe only requires toast, an avocado, and olive oil (if you want). To spice it up you can add Sriracha, lemon juice, or salt and pepper. This is perfect and easy to make for a light breakfast.

2. Avocado smoothie.

For this recipe your base is avocado and ice, but you can also blend in other fruits such as bananas, pineapples, strawberries, etc. You can also add milk, honey, coconut water, or lemon/lime juice too.

3. Romaine salad.

All you will need for this simple salad is romaine lettuce, slices of avocado, parmesan cheese, oil and vinegar. The rest is up to you; add tomatoes, onions, croutons, or any other vegetables or herbs.

4. Avocado quesadilla.

This quesadilla will require a tortilla wrap, tomatoes, lettuce, and an avocado. You also have the choice of adding ground beef or chicken to it, and then to finish it off you'll need salsa or sour cream for sauce. This should only take about eight to 10 minutes to bake in the oven!

5. Avocado lime rice.

The ingredients include brown rice, an avocado, lime juice, and cilantro. In a bowl you mash the avocado, cilantro, and lime juice together and then you stir in the rice. You can also find the instructions on how to make this here.

6. Guacamole.

For a quick dip, all you will need is avocado, lime juice, sea salt, cilantro, and red onions. Guacamole can be completed in a matter of five minutes!

7. Avocado hummus.

Chickpeas and ripe avocado will create the best and most refreshing hummus. Additional ingredients include lime juice, garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. You can also find the full recipe here and enjoy this hummus with pita bread, raw veggies, or chips.

8. Avocado chicken wrap.

For lunch try this avocado chicken wrap that consists of chicken, cheese, cilantro, tortilla wrap, and avocado. You can also add salsa, dressing, or Sriracha to your wrap.

9. Charred corn and avocado pizza.

This pizza is healthy and includes charred corn, pepper jack cheese, poblano peppers, cilantro, feta cheese, and fresh lime. For more instructions check out the recipe here.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
