It's the moment we've been waiting for since August. Mid-terms are over, the workload is dying down, and (for a small period of time) you have actual time for yourself. Wondering what to do with yourself? Here are 10 things that are, for the most part, productive and are sure to lead to your success as the semester finishes out.

1. Re-organizing your life (AKA your dorm room)

Coming back into your routine will be much nicer with a fresh start. Move around some furniture, vacuum those crumbs out from under your desk. There’s nothing nicer than a clean workspace to finish up the semester in.

2. Finding or making a new playlist on Spotify or Apple Music

Tying into this ‘starting fresh’ theme, bring some new music into your world. Whether it’s a playlist to help you study (I highly recommend classical) or work out, having this resource will make you feel much more confident coming out of your mid-term blues.

3. Catching up on your sleep

Some well-deserved z’s are in the near future for your hard-work.

4. Swapping out your clothes

Yes, Summer is over. No more crop-tops or sundresses thanks to Autumn’s impending chill. Use this time to pick out some new boots or scarves to warm up your wardrobe.

5. Actually going to an event without feeling guilty about your workload afterwards

We’ve all done it. The little fomo monster resides in all of us. But now that mid-terms are over, you can go to that show or festival without worrying about what productive work you could (should) be doing instead.

6. Re-organizing your life part II (clean out your computer files)

Your procrastination has most likely resulted in stray documents your desktop screen. But don’t worry: folders are a beautiful thing. Set yourself up for success to finish out the semester by organizing your files into folders for easier access later on.

7. Finishing up that season of Game of Thrones

I won’t pretend like you haven’t been binge watching your recent Netflix or HBO show, but at least now you can do it without that nagging sensation in the back of your mind telling you no, not one more episode.

8. Catch up on all the friendships you’ve ignored while your head was stuck in a textbook

Grabbing lunch or having a three-hour-long Skype session is now a-okay! Find out all about what’s been going on in their lives and, if their mid-terms are still in full-swing, use that time to be a source of encouragement for your pals.

9. Restock on your food

Stress-eating is real, and so is the freshman/sophomore/junior/senior 15. Now that your mid-terms are in the rearview mirror, it’s time to refill your food drawers with some fall-themed goodies.

10. Cry happy tears

...because mid-terms are finally over! Woohoo!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
