10 Things You Can Do To Improve Your Life

Sometimes, life can bring people down a little. Don't sweat it, it happens to the best of us. Even though we can't control the universe, we can all make little changes to improve ourselves and our moods. Here are some little things that will change your life for the better.

1. Have healthy habits.

This may seem irrelevant, but taking care of yourself helps you feel better in so many ways, and being healthy will make your life longer and better. You will physically and mentally feel better, and your body will thank you for that. the more you take care of yourself, the more you'll want to do it.

2. Surround yourself with positive people.

Don't hang around people who bring you down. It's not always easy to cut them out, but in the long run, it is beneficial and will make you so much happier. Having true friends who make you feel better about yourself will not only make your life much easier, but you will be so much more happier.

3. Focus on yourself instead of others.

Yes, Having people who love you is an amazing feeling. However, your opinion of yourself is the most important. So, instead of worrying about what others think, pay attention to what YOU think.

4. Have a daily routine.

This will make you more efficient, as well as more focused on the things that really do matter, like getting important work done.

5. Make time for your loved ones.

Besides yourself, your family and close friends are the ones who love you the most. Love them back and never forget that they will always be there for you.

6. Engage in activities that you love.

This is a simple concept- don't do things that don't make you happy. Of course, sometimes you might not have a choice, but when you do, only do what you love.

7. Don't compare yourself to others.

You've probably heard this several times, but it's a universal truth. Stop comparing your bloopers reel to others' highlights.

8. Make time to relax.

If you don't, you will without a doubt stress yourself out and give yourself unnecessary problems. Avoid this by giving yourself some "you time", which brings me to my next point.

9. Give yourself a good pampering.

This will not only provide you with comfort but also with an escape from reality. Whether it's physical or mental pampering, whatever makes you feel better works.

10. Love yourself.

You are beautiful, funny, smart, kind, and exciting. Love yourself with every bone in your body, and that love will exude and and take in happiness into your life.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads.
