Love can be very beautiful. It can fill your life and heart with joy and help you through many troubles. But for those of us who are single and not looking for a change, here are a few things you can do that is not falling in love.

1. Go on adventures.

These can be a simple hike in a place you’ve never been, a random adventure with friends or going to get ice cream. Just get yourself out there and try something new. You can never grow if you are always staying in the same place.

2. Learn something new.

A new language. A new instrument. How to skateboard. Heck, get certified to ride motorcycles. Just grow. Being single gives you the perfect chance to enhance yourself in ways you never knew possible.

3. Have fun with your friends.

Have a girl’s or boy’s night out and dance until you drop. Spend a weekend away. Drive until you don’t recognize where you are. Build those strong relationships and never let them go. They are there for you when you are down but make sure they are there when you are living life to the fullest too.

4. Learn to say "no."

Learn to set boundaries. Draw hard lines and stick to them. Do not let people take advantage of you.

5. Travel any chance you get.

Buy the plane ticket and plan the trip of your dreams. You can always make more money but you can never make memories like those again. When you are young it so easy to get caught up in the future. Just try and live in the moment.

6. Go on a date.

Just because you’re not looking for anything serious does not mean you can’t have fun. So, go on that date. Ask out the person you have always thought was cute. Just have fun. You won’t know what you don’t want until you meet it.

7. Challenge yourself.

Life isn’t about staying in the same place. It is about growing and becoming what you were meant to be. So, take that hard class, study your butt off, and get an A. You are the only thing holding you back.

8. Let yourself make mistakes.

Learn from these mistakes and let them take you where they will.

9. Spend more time with your family.

We often forget what our family can do for us. Go have lunch with you mom, watch a game with your dad, and take your siblings to have some bonding time. The stronger your relationships with them are the happier you will be.

10. Learn to love yourself.

Through everything, you are the only one who will always be there. Learn to take care of yourself. Learn to enjoy being alone and learn what that truly means for you.

Don’t get me wrong relationships are great but it is rare to appreciate being single. So challenge yourself to love it and dance in the independence.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about.
