December is coming, which is the notorious season of exams and stress. All of the pressure that students are under during this time can be sometimes unbearable, so here's a few ways to kick those exam blues:

1. Drink some earl grey tea

Earl grey is caffeinated and can help you relax not only emotionally but can also relax your muscles, and it can help you stay awake and focus more on the work that you're trying to do.

2. Watch an episode of a show you enjoy

Whether it's a half hour or forty-five minutes, watching one episode of something that will take your mind off of your exams and studying can actually help you focus more on things later.

3. Take a really long, hot shower

Showering for a longer amount of time and with a hotter temperature can actually help relax you and wake you up, and it's one less thing that you have to do later!

4. Go for a drive

Driving lets you focus on something and having a clear destination and coming back from it helps cheat your mind into feeling accomplishment and wanting to finish more things.

5. Make a meal or bake dessert

Cooking is a famous de-stresser just because it lets you work with your hands and also gives you the feeling of accomplishment like driving does, but you get food out of it so it's even better!

6. Ask your friend to come over for a few hours to talk and destress

Talking to someone in person and having someone to tell you that they understand where you're coming from and that everything will be okay is a great way for you to feel better about your situation.

7. Clean up your environment

Having someplace clean to study and focus is key. If you aren't distracted by the mess around you, it's much easier to focus.

8. Take a power nap

Taking a power nap for a half hour to an hour is actually proven to help your working memory process things that you've already learned, and makes your brain more awake to study more!

9. Try staying away from substances

Alcohol and drugs, even Adderall, can distract you from what you need to do and can actually really harm your performance and make you focus on other things than your work.

10. Call your parents

No one knows you better than your parents, so calling them not only lets them know how you're doing but can also give them an opportunity to let you know that no matter what, you're a success.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
