A short list of fun, sleep inducing activities for those nights where you can't seem to do anything but toss and turn by the glow of your nightlight.

1. Clean up your room.

Your homestead could always use a little sprucing up! Take some of this valuable time that you're awake to de-clutter.

2. Plan out the next ten years of your life in minute detail.

The oncoming decade of your life seems so vague and mysterious as of now- fix that by detailing the next ten years of your life down to the minute. Your future self will thank you for it.

3. Listen to music.

Some calm instrumental music can do wonders to calm our brains and prepare them for sleep. Check out some acoustic playlists on 8tracks next time you escape the sandman.

4. Memorize every stop on the CTA Blue Line train route, from Forest Park to O'Hare.

Even if you don't live in Chicago, and even if you've never been, it can never hurt to commit to memory every single Blue Line train stop. It'll get you babes for sure.

5. Do some meditation.

Slowing your breathing and letting your thoughts dissolve into the abyss really gets your body in gear for some shut eye.

6. Learn everything there is to know about the Malaysian sewage system.

If this isn't useful information to have on hand, then I don't know what is.

7. Read a book that you find boring.

Any student will tell you, a thick book about the natural process of photosynthesis can make your eyelids grow heavy at an alarming rate. Dig up your old high school textbooks and crack 'em open!

8. Teach yourself to build an air conditioner from scratch.

You never know when you'll need to build an air condition from spare parts. It happens at least once in everyone's lifetime, and it would serve you well if you took the liberty of preparing yourself for the big day.

9. Take a warm bath.

Let your muscles relax in the tub for once. Extra points if you use a LUSH bath bomb.

10. Write an Odyssey article.

Lord knows the deadline to submit for editing is closing in and you don't want to get roasted in the Content Creator group chat for submitting late again.

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
