10 Things To Thank Your Sisters For

Between the fights, laughs, and cries, sisters go through it all together. I have grown up with 3 older sisters and they to this day are some of the most influential people in my life. Ever since I was little I would admire my sisters for everything they did. Whether it was the shirt they were wearing, which I would take the next day, or the way they acted, which then I would try to copy later. I wanted to talk about why everyone should be thankful for their sister or sisters and why so here we go!

1. Immediate best friends from birth

You meet people throughout your life that become your best friends forever. Whether it is in college or even elementary school you find someone who you will know forever. If you are lucky enough to have a sister, the search is over right when you are born. That is your long time best friend whether you like it or not.

2. Understanding me

Whenever other people are confused about why I am quiet and sad, my sister always knows whats wrong and why without even asking. She knows exactly what to do to make it better too.

3. Giving me the best advice

Being the youngest, I always have some story or advice before I go to a prom, game or first date. It is amazing to have someone there to support you and give you good advice to help you out for those "firsts".

4. Caring about me

Sometimes when you feel like the world is falling apart in front of your eyes, you failed a math test, didn't make the team or simply just upset, your sisters are there for you. They never hesitate to be a shoulder to cry on because they genuinely care about you.

5. Being a role model

I have always aimed to be just like them and they may find it annoying at times but they are so inspiring.

6. Cheering me up when I'm feeling down

All you have to do is see my face and you know if I am in a bad mood. Sometimes I will not even want to talk to you about it but you force it out of me and I feel so much better after talking.

7. Loving me unconditionally

I might complain, my room might be a mess, I might take your clothes but no matter what you still love me(after you yell at me for 3 hours about taking your shirt).

8. Hanging out with me when I am bored

The good things about having sisters is you don't need to invite friends over because your best of friends live with you. More importantly, they are always willing to hangout.

9. Making my childhood amazing

Even though you hated to play barbies at times, you still did. You always wanted me to be happy.

10. Being a TRUE friend

Friends come and go but luckily you can't leave me! But still, thank you for being my best friends through it all.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
