If you're as OCD as I am, then you're just as obsessed with your planner as I am. It doesn't matter what kind/ brand of planner you use, as long as it works for you and your lifestyle. With the beginning of a new year approaching, the best thing you can do for yourself is to get your planner ready for the new year! Here's a list of things you can go ahead and mark in your planner:

1. Birthdays

This is a big one. You can't have your grandma thinking you've forgotten her birthday, can you?? Prevent it by marking the day before it sneaks up on you.

2. Holidays

You'd hate to be the one student that shows up for class when the school is closed for a holiday!

3. Wedding Dates/ Anniversaries

Since December just passed, a lot of people you know have recently gotten engaged. Go ahead and mark down their special day!

4. Dentist/ Doctor Appointments

It's a lot easier to plan your Spring Break vacation when you're aware of those pesky yearly check-ups!

5. Class Schedule

This one is a biggie! I'm guilty of reaching that point in the middle of the semester where I forget what day it is, what class I'm supposed to go to, what room I'm supposed to be in, and what my teacher's name is! I always know I can count on my schedule to be in my planner when I need it.

6. Important Events You Already Know About

Family Reunions, Formal, Vacations, etc.

7. Passwords

Since I always have my planner with me, I'm always able to look up passwords to accounts that I don't really use but always end up needing! Putting all your passwords in one central location prevents those annoying "reset your password" emails.

8. Contact Information

Always. I repeat: Always, put your name and cell number in your planner. If you ever misplace it (God forbid), whoever finds it knows just how to get in touch with you.

9. Stickers

Organizing isn't always as fun as it seems, so make putting together your planner more fun by using stickers! Cute stickers also make your planner more personal, and it's easier to find that important meeting time when there's a purple star next to it!

10. To-Do Lists

This is probably the best thing I've ever done. To-do list's are my life. I can write down all the assignments and things I need to do everyday, and I can check them off as I get them done! I feel more productive and on-top-of things just by making the list to begin with.

Happy planning!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
