Break ups aren't fun. A break-up, whether it was out of your control or not, is a loss. It's a loss you're going to grieve no matter how much it needed to happen. Coping and grieving with the feelings and the loss of the break-up is not easy, but by doing the healthy things with the best people by your side, you will get there.
While you can just lay down and fall into a depression to get through it, there are a lot better, healthier (and more fun) ways.
1. Girls Night!!!
I always have and always will need my friends. Go out, dance, have fun! All you can do is remember who has your back. They will definitely help you through this.
2. Talk about how you're feeling.
The best people to listen are the ones who know you best. So before or after your crazy outing, y'all gotta talk.
3. Eating your feelings is okay.
Maybe once or twice... We got better things to do.
3. Sing/scream about your feelings
The good, the bad, and the ugly — all of your feelings are okay and valid.
5. Realize you are number one.
Loving someone is great; it can be an adventure. As hard as the break up is, as much as you loved them, you HAVE to love yourself more. You are so important and a beautiful soul.
6. Remember that you slay.
It hurts right now, but I can guarantee, your self-worth will always shine through.
7. Listen to you favorite empowering music!
"Now I'm out here lookin' like revenge, feelin' like a ten, the best I've ever been. And yeah, I know how bad it must hurt to see me like this but it gets worse (wait a minute). " — The Queen herself, Demi Lovato
8. Better yourself
Practice self-care: go to the gym, take care of yourself, get enough sleep, drink water, you do you! Be the best version of you!
9. Separation from your ex is okay!
Avoid the obsessive stalking and checking up on them.
Trust me. *nervous laugh*
10. Don't feed into the drama.
No break up is going to be drama free and pretty. You and your ex's significant other know what happened. If people want to add to it, so be it.
