I love meeting new people and gaining new friends. If you are curious as to what it's like being my friend, (even though I'm sure you're not), continue reading. I asked a few of my friends what they would tell others to expect and this is what they said:

1. "Expect to be on her Snapchat." -Noelle

I absolutely love Snapchat and its filters. If you're friends with me, you should expect to be on my story because I love playing jokes on my friends and catching it on camera.

2. "You love to scream sing." -Madison

I love to sing along to songs all the time. Scream-singing is seriously the best when it's a song everyone knows.

3. Expect "to laugh a lot." -Corie

I'm not sure if they mean to expect to be laughing because of me or at me but to be honest, it's probably a little of both. As most people say, "laughing is the best medicine", and I am on board with that statement almost 100% of the time.

4. Expect her "moods to switch really quick." -Katie

I think this is pretty accurate because sometimes I'm laughing one second and the next I'm crying. If this is to happen, usually it's random and I don't mean to do it. It could be because I saw a sad puppy video on Facebook, or I heard a song on the radio. It could literally be anything.

5. "You randomly dance and sing and expect whoever you're with to participate." -Katie

This makes me laugh because it's so true. I don't care if we're in public or in my bedroom, if I'm dancing and singing, you better join in. I just like to have a good time and most of the time that involves music.

6. "You tend to be a grammar [perfectionist]." -Darby

I will admit to doing this, but only sometimes. English has always been my favorite subject, so I guess that's why I tend to be that way sometimes.

7. "Expect the unexpected." -Aristeo

I'm not completely sure what I do that people don't expect, but I know I can be random a lot.

8. Expect her "to worry about you." -Noelle

I know sometimes people don't always want to talk about things that are bothering them, but I still worry. You don't have to tell me anything, but I like my friends to know I'm here if they need me.

9. "You like to cuddle and have deep talks." -Holly

I just love to take naps or just lay in bed. Having deep talks is seriously one of my favorite things to do. I like to get to know people and sometimes I just like to talk about events happening in my life.

10. "You're crazy!"

I feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory.

If there is one thing I want you to know if you want to be my friend, it's that I promise to be the best friend I can possibly be. I'm not perfect, but I will do my best!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
