1. Sleep

Sleep is the number one thing to do when you come home for the summer considering all the high intense studying you put yourself through in the school year. Sleep through a day and you will find yourself thoroughly entertained by your dreams.

2. Swipe through Tinder

After waking up from a long slumber, grab your phone and check up on all your notifications. If you are still bored then swipe through tinder and hopefully find a summer “boo thing” you can have wild thoughts about. (Apparently Rihanna having a Saudian prince is having a big impact on all the ladies for the summer)

3. Meet up with friends

Meet up with your old high school friends and see how fake they have gotten. Seeing them again will make you realize how much you want to go back to college. So make sure you pregame for the meet up and watch how everyone attempts to act their coolest in front of you. Try not to laugh, it’s offensive (This is from personal experience).

4. Binge watch Netflix

Watch a marathon of ‘Law and Order’ and other movies while stuffing your face with junk food. It can be an entertaining and time filled thing to do for the day. When there’s an awkward pause between scenes look at yourself hard in the reflection of the laptop or television screen and ask yourself “are you really living summer if you look like trash while watching Netflix?”

5. Read an inspirational book

Reading books that cover topics such as “How to be Successful” or “How to Stay Motivated” can consume your time and can educate you on being motivated while ironically doing nothing but reading the book.

6. Make new friends

Since your old friends suck, try going out to bars and clubs or even a local coffee shop and spring a conversation with anybody. Who knows if there’s a cute boy or girl to meet or a dope friend you can do fun adventures with.

7. Go to Parties

Parties are often something to do to make yourself forget about how much your summer sucks. This is a go to place to make friends and to show off on your snapchat stories to appear much cooler than you actually are.

8. Go on Vacation

Can’t afford a vacation you say? Same, so I take vacations from app to app on my iphone. Sometimes I take a vacation in my dreams. It saves money. If you can afford vacations, screw you.

9. Start Drama

Start a fight with someone or create drama with that summer fling. It will be painful, but hey at least it’s something to do and talk about. The more drama you have with your family and friends the more motivation there is to go out and distract yourself.

10. Workout

This is the most important thing to do since you want to show off to all your college friends how fit you’ve gotten over the summer. Drink water, eat well, lift heavy. GET THAT BODY RIGHT!!!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
