Life can be quite rough for various reasons, but there are ways to help improve the quality of your life no matter what is bogging you down at the moment.

1. Tell people the truth about how you feel.

Telling the truth is hard, especially when it's about how you feel, but I can guarantee it makes life better. If you're honest, it makes it easier for other people to be honest with you. I know it can suck and may even hurt sometimes, but the only way to improve a situation is to be honest about what's really happening.

2. Drink water every day.

This is really simple, but staying hydrated can make you feel better. Anything that helps you feel better daily should become a daily habit.

3. Look at the whole situation before making a decision/judgment.

People have a tendency to make a quick judgment call when things happen, but you should try thinking about the big picture before you judge. Remember to see other people's side to the story and make a point to think about whether the matter at hand really requires a reaction. Sometimes it can be hard to let go of your own perceptions, but the best way to learn is to just start doing it whenever you can. Eventually, you'll naturally consider more than your side when you begin to react to something.

4. Disconnect from technology on occasion.

Technology is an amazing thing but sometimes it's best to put it down. I'm not saying all the time, but do remember to just put it away like once a week and enjoy life without it. Think about things, write, or maybe even take a walk. Whatever you do, just enjoy it and enjoy disconnecting for a minute.

5. If you have something nice to say, say it.

If you think someone has cute shoes, tell them. If you love someone's dress, tell them. Anything that comes to mind that's nice, make sure you tell people. Everyone could use more compliments so don't be afraid to speak up and tell them how awesome their t-shirt is.

6. Spend time with yourself.

You are the only one who can see what goes on within your mind so take the time to get to know yourself. Spend time really enjoying your own company on occasions, it can really make life more enjoyable.

7. Spend time with others.

Spend time with family, friends, and even strangers because being around people is fun. Learn from those around you about life because everyone has something to teach you if you let them. Enjoy the chance to meet new people and see the world through different perspectives, it's worth the energy.

8. Do what you enjoy.

This may seem obvious, but not everyone does what actually makes them happy so follow your passions. If you love doing something, do it because everyone needs passion in life. Passions help make life better.

9. Be kind.

This is simple, just show kindness to people. You never know what is going on in people's lives so make a point to be kind to everyone. This world needs more kind people so take the initiative and be one of those people.

10. Feel.

Let yourself feel whatever feelings you have. It may seem cool to be tough, but the best way to live life is full of feeling. Live life following your heart because you'll end up where you're supposed to be in the end.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
