Many's excitement for Christmas can be hindered by responsibilities and a busy lifestyle. Sometimes it is difficult to focus on the current events rather than the steps that are planned to achieve a future goal in one's life. With holiday music playing and presents to wrap, here are a few things that will get you into the holiday spirit.

1. Hot Chocolate

Seriously, there isn't anything that hot chocolate can't fix.

2. Buying Presents

Buying presents is a great way to show your loved-ones how much you care. You might not buy exactly what your family wants, but it's the thought behind it that counts the most.

3. All of the family gatherings that are coming

The excitement is real.

4. The food

Does this even need an explanation?

5. Christmas sweaters

Can it get any better than a cat on a sweater? If this doesn't make you excited for Christmas, I don't know what will.

6. Going to church

This is as close as you can get to getting into the holiday spirit. Christmas is all about praising Jesus, so church is a definite 'must' this season.

7. Baking

It may seem like a lot of work when everything is being mixed up, but eating sweets when they are done is worth it (especially when you make them with your family).

8. Light Shows

There's just something about bright lights illuminating the night sky that is just so aesthetically pleasing.

9. Watching Christmas movies

If you aren't watching Christmas movies, you aren't even close to getting ready for the holiday season! According to Buddy, there is just so much to do.

10. Decorating the tree

Bringing life to a once bare tree with colored beads and colorful lights is one way to prepare for the holiday.

No matter how unprepared you are for the holiday season, there are always little steps that one can take to feel more like Buddy the Elf, instead of the Grinch. Happy Holidays!

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
