10 Things That Prove You're The CeCe To Someone's Jess

We all love Jess on "New Girl." She's the kind of awkward goofy that makes us smile and cringe at the same time, and she's like a modern day Snow White with her posse of dorky guys. As much as we love Jess, Schmidt, Nick, and Coach, we all know that Cece is the real Prince Charming in this story. Her sass and confidence has empowered Jess to be more outspoken and she's constantly being the best friend, mom, and biggest cheerleader that we all dream of having. She walks Jess through the struggles of having three new men in her life and watches closely so she can be there when Jess falls down (literally AND figuratively). CeCe stands by her, comforts her, and would fight a fully grown man for her-which she's threatened to do several times. In reality, we're all like her at some point in our life (me more often than not), but if you and your bestie have a Jess and CeCe type of relationship, here's how you can tell that you're definitely the CeCe.

10. You freak out just as much (if not more) than her when she shares big news with you, because her personal life is basically yours too.

9. You’re the first person to call her out when you know she’s wrong -- whether it's a bad dating decision or a fashion faux-pas.

8. No matter how much you (secretly) judge, she know you’ve always got her back in sticky situations.

7. When it comes to making decisions (like where to eat or which chick flick to watch), we all know who’s in charge.

6. But sometimes even you need to lean on her for support and advice -- or just to have a shoulder to cry on.

5. You’re very protective of your best friend, because she’s obviously the best thing in your life -- even better than coffee and chocolate...

4. ...because she’s the only person who’s allowed to call you out on your own bad life decisions (although you still get mad at her for it).

3. You cheer her on in everything she does, because you know she’s the most amazing person in the world (even if she refuses to acknowledge it).

2. And you’ll always tell her when she deserves more, because anything less than perfect is unacceptable in your eyes.

1. Because your best friend is the only person you can truly be your crazy, weird self with, because you know she loves you anyways (and you love her too!).

So to all the CeCe's out there, thank you for being your tough love, no-nonsense self. Whenever you're in a Jess kind of mess, there's always a CeCe standing by to get you out of it. And if you're wondering how you can be a CeCe, all I can say is...

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
