10 Reasons America Is Already Great
Huffington Post

Well, election night is over, and it still seems like it will be an extremely hot topic for months to come, if not years. Democrat or Republican, here are 10 things we can all agree on about our amazing country.

1. This country has always been great

This country has never not been great. This country is known to be diverse and the land of that America is a resilient country, we always fight for what we believe in.

2. We give everyone an equal chance

No matter where people are from, we give everyone an equal chance here in America. No matter what people’s views, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or anything else; everyone here deserves their shot at pursuing their form of the American dream.

3. Freedom

Everyone who lives in this country is free to practice whatever sort of religion they want. A lot of countries are not free to do so without some sort of consequences. Be thankful you live in America.

4. We learn from past mistakes

For the most part, we try to learn from our mistakes. We know that diving our country is not the right thing to do because everyone deserves the right to pursue a better life. We know that building walls are not efficient on keeping peace (look at the Berlin wall). As Americans, we also know that banning a race of people certainly does not unite us as a nation (example: World War 2), and defies what our values consist of.

5. The justice system

The American justice system is amazing when compared to a lot of other justice systems around the world. Everyone that is accused of a crime gets a fair trial with a panel of jurors. They accused are innocent until proven guilty, and there must not be any reasonable doubt to convict the accused.

6. Agencies and Departments

The U.S. has a lot of agencies and departments that do a lot of important things. Departments such as the USDA and the FDA do a lot for food safety and making sure we are all safe.

7. Education

Education in this country is great, and public schools are readily available. Every child gets the same opportunity to educate themselves so they can have a brighter future. We have a lot of top technical schools and universities that people can go to so they can further their education.

8. Technology

America is technologically advanced when compared to other countries. Every single day there are more technological advances that are astounding. As we all know, virtually everyone uses some sort of technology numerous times a day.

9. Diversity

This country is extremely diverse with many types of cultures. We are fortunate that we can experience a wide variety of beliefs so we can expand our knowledge about the all the vast amount of cultures around the world.

10. Democracy

Regardless of the election results, we have an excellent check and balances system. Ideas that politicians have that seem too far out there, probably will be double checked to see if it is in the best interest for our country.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
