10. Senior Prom

I mean, who doesn't like getting all dolled up and paying a million bucks for that ONE dress you love? Senior prom was tons of fun because it was the last night we all came together as one and danced like no one was watching.

9. Senior Trip

Washington D.C. was not ready for us. Being all together, or separated into our fun little groups, we learned so much and had so much fun. Shopping, being on the D.C. news, or crying together in the Holocaust Museum, memories were made.

8. Every Homecoming

I enjoyed every one of the homecoming dances I went to. The DJ's were all pretty great, I loved every dress I had, and my dates were always tons of fun. Don't forget about the after parties. Yes, even the non-drinking ones are tons of fun!

7. Junior Year English Class

Kami Coursen is a sweet person to begin with, but having her as a teacher is amazing. I learned so much about my classmates, as well as myself. I found out who I was, what I wanted, and why I was me. Junior year English brought so much life to me.

6. Having 4 Study Halls My Senior Year

What was better than sitting in the cafeteria with Terrible Terrie, sitting in the library with Mrs. Heller or Mrs. Sheatz, or in the office with Mrs. Porter? Endless days of Netflix and Christmas music...I mean homework and studying.

5. Church Youth Group

Although I did not attend this church, Engage was a pretty fun youth group, if you ask me. It was the first and only youth I was involved in. It was great to get together with all of my friends and learn about our God and our faith.

4. Halloween

Were we in high school? Yeah. Did we dress up, anyways? HECK YEAH.

3. Sports

Sports were magical. They brought classmates and peers together its one team. Was it stressful? Well, what wasn't at this age?! Was it fun? Tons of fun. High school track and field, volleyball, soccer, golf, basketball, and cheerleading will never be a part of your life again, live it up, now.

2. Spontaneous Late Night Trips

Whether it was to Applebees, Walmart, the Movies, or Sheetz, we were finally old enough to drive to these places after 11, and without parents hating us for it. Friday night Applebees trips were the best because karaoke and half priced apps.

1. Graduation

Even though it was the beginning of the end, it was amazing. A night where we celebrate each other and the hard work and struggles we have encountered as a class. We celebrate each other's success, and even shed a tear or two because we know it only gets harder from there.

Soak it up. Love high school even though you absolutely despise the place and people. Make it good. Be happy. It's your choice.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
