10 Things That Happen When You're Too Close To Your Roommates

When you move away from home and have to live with people you hardly know, it can be a rough experience. But if you're lucky enough to instantly clique with your roommates, it can be one of the best times of your life. You get closer to them every day and it becomes hard to believe that they were ever strangers. When you're too close to your roommates, so many things can happen.

1. Personal space stops existing.

Whether you're crawling into bed with them or talking to them through the shower curtain, you're never alone when you're this close with your roommates. But you like it this way.

2. Being alone becomes a hardship.

You just get so bored without them.

3. You get excited to see them when they walk through the door.

Even if they were only gone for a few hours, you love reuniting.

4. You get new closets.

You'll never have to worry about having an outfit for any event again.

5. There is no judgement. Ever.

There's no need to be embarrassed about anything with them. They've seen it all and love you for your weirdness.

6. You know everything about them.

Like even the time when her best friend's uncle's cat scratched her eight years ago at a Halloween party.

7. They take on more roles than just being your roommates.

They sometimes act like your mom, your therapist, or your teacher.

8. You all take pride in the little things together, and there is no shame.

Whether you've finally taken the trash out or cleaned the room so you can see the floor, your roommates are there to celebrate the insignificant with you.

9. They are always there for you no matter what.

And have become your best friends.

10. You can't picture living without them and the thought of winter break approaching makes you incredibly sad.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
