With a new year comes updated goals, a fresh start and a brand-spankin' new season of "The Bachelor." The premiere of Ben Higgins' season can't come soon enough, and while you're counting down the days until Bachelor Nation is brought together again, let us remind you why we all love this show so much. Here are 10 things that happen when you watch "The Bachelor."

1. Thinking that you're too classy and civilized to watch "The Bachelor" and being forced to watch it for the first time like: "Am I really watching this?"

Then ultimately being sucked in by the drama, the comedy and Chris Harrison's super cheesy love guru act.

2. Thinking that you might be watching an actual trainwreck happen when you witness the weirdness of a group date for the first time.

3. When it's "The Bachelorette" and you pick your favorite guys like it's March Madness.

4. Seeing right through a contestant who's there for the "wrong reasons" when the bachelor/bachelorette can't see it.

5. Being so excited for Bachelor Monday and surrounded by people who don't share in your love.

6. "Did he/she really just say that?"

After this many seasons, you'd think that nothing could shock you anymore, but the drama keeps coming. Grab your popcorn.

7. The ultimate feeling of sadness when your favorite contestant doesn't get a rose.

8. Realizing that you want Chris Harrison to lead you on your journey to true love, too.

9. When Bachelor Monday finally rolls around.

10. "This is the greatest show on earth."

Knowing deep down that this show has it all: comedy, drama and a very cheesy romance. And no matter what the haters say, that's what makes it your fave. In the words of Ashley S., it's "a freaking onion."

Happy Bachelor season, everyone! May the odds be ever in your favor.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
