10 Things That Happen When You And Your Mom Look Alike

If you and your mom look alike, you probably already know the drill. You get stopped at grocery stores, restaurants, school, and even your own home sometimes! You probably answer the the same questions and respond to the same comments with the same words every single time. You also are aware that her first name is your second name, since people often mistake you for her. Here are some of the things that may happen to you if you have a mom that you also like to call your twin.

1. You get stopped in random places by random people.

Why does this seem like it mostly happens in grocery stores?

2. You get,"you two must be sisters?" a lot.

So its great and all if you think that my mom looks like a teenager, but are you saying I look like I am in my 40s?

3. Even on the phone people think you are you're mom.

This sometimes can be fun when you play along for a while.

4. Sometimes in person people even think you are your mom.

Often comes along with a double take kind of like this.

5. You feel like an evil mastermind when you can trick people with baby photos.

Even though its lame how excited this gets you, it never gets old.

6. This is the look you give when people say you look like your dad.

This happens like once in a blue moon, but when it does you often respond with, "you should see me and my mom!"

7. You feel awkward complimenting your moms looks sometimes because you are basically complimenting yourself.

But you also feel awkward when you complain about a certain feature of yours.

8. On rare occasion YOU may even mistake your mom for yourself.

Okay so this one might just be me, but when we are wearing the same color, sometimes its just like looking in the mirror!

9. You can share the same beauty struggles together.

"Mom, can I borrow your super fancy hair straightener?"

10.You have high hopes for the future of your looks.

For me, I think that my mom is absolutely beautiful and I'm not just saying that because we look alike. In that case I have high hopes for the future of my looks.

While a lot of girls may not prefer to be called their mothers spitting image, I always feel privileged to be called that. My mom is my role model and I look up to her in everything I do. I'm convinced that her wardrobe is way more in with fashion than mine (which probably explains why I always steal her clothes). She knows how to get the job done in a loving and classy matter. She is strong and always puts others needs before her own. Whether it is her selflessness, her strength, her love, her humor or even her style. I would not want to be called anyone else's spitting image but hers.

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
