'Tis the season to be jolly, because it's never too early to deck the halls! Here are 10 things that make me excited for this holiday season:

1. The holiday drinks and cups at Starbucks.

Simply thinking about the anticipated arrival of seasonal drinks is what has me looking forward to this holiday season. Starbucks is iconic for their holiday-themed red cups, and who can argue with the fact that the bold red and green colors represent a Christmas tree? I can't wait to get my hands on a pumpkin spice latté.

2. 'Sweater Weather' and boots.

Winter apparel is cozy and perfect to lounge in. The trends this season are hard to resist and easy to throw on. While I’m not the biggest fan of winter clothing, when I see a cute oversized sweater and some boots to match, I just can’t help myself!

3. Christmas music.

In general, I love music. Whenever the Christmas season rolls around, I go crazy. I love feeling connected through music. There's an album called "Punk Goes Christmas," where various bands famous in the punk scene perform Christmas Songs, and I recommend you give it a listen; it’s what I jam out to when I drive!

4. The long winter break holiday.

After seeing the holiday spirit around town, I can’t help but start to check out of school. After finals, the semester ends. I get a month long break to do whatever I want and experience the holiday season as I please.

5. Christmas light decorations.

Just look at those lights! LOOK AT THEM!

The colors are so vibrant and electric, which makes me stand and admire. I admire Christmas light decorations because they inspire me to get into the holiday spirit. Simply looking at the light decorations in this picture has me in awe.

6. Presents.

The holidays are all about GIVING and less about receiving. But, on the contrary, having Christmas gifts to look forward to on Christmas day just makes me feel warm inside. Unwrapping Christmas gifts always gets me into a giddy mood.

7. Bath and Body Works holiday scents.

I’m not going to lie, I’m obsessed with scents and fragrances. I love smelling good, and smelling things that are good. Bath and Body Works always comes out with a collection of holiday scents that make me even more excited for the holidays than I should be.

8. Snow.

I love playing in the snow and skiing. Unfortunately, it rarely snows in Vegas. But that's OK—there’s always Reno, right?!

9. Watching Christmas movies and shows.

During the holiday season, it seems that whenever a new episode of a show I’m watching comes out, it’s Christmas-themed. Watching Christmas or holiday-themed episodes make me feel in the holiday spirit because it’s as though they’re celebrating Christmas with me! I get the same effect with the classic Christmas movies too, such as the "Polar Express."

10. Spending time with family and those you love.

I saved the best for last. Spending time with the people that I love most reminds me of why I enjoy the holidays in the first place. Having loved ones to cherish and spend the season with is what makes the holidays so warm and special.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
