Nowadays people drink coffee like they drink water. It's not only something that is drunk in the morning but has become a nighttime treat or an afternoon power boost. The culture around coffee has changed immensely and has turned what was once a drink for adults going off to work into the daily Instagram picture for teens in high school. But out there amidst the frappuccinos and chocolately delights, there are us true coffee addicts. The one's who drink it straight from the pot with no additives. The ones who instill our lives on this delicious beverage.

1. We have to start every day with a cup of Joe.

Without a nice warm cup, the early hours of the morning have us dazed and confused. We look like a chicken running around with it's head cut off. Many of us prepare our machines the night before so that with a simple press of a button we can have our coffee just minutes after we wake. Some of us even have timed ones so that the moment our eyes crack open the house is filled with that sweet aroma.

2. We like our coffee a specific way.

When you first become a coffee drinker, deciding how you like your daily mug can be a bit of a challenge. Everyone has a different palette and different taste buds which means not everyone can drink it in the exact same way. But once we find that sweet combination, with the right brew and right amount of cream, we will never want anything else.

3. We've tried nearly all types of coffee.

If it's out there, we've had it. Sometimes even coffee addicts who have their one specific drink like to try the other brews and blends and specialty drinks that are out there in the world. And, more than likely, we might not like it as much as our usual but we still try it. After all, it is coffee.

4. We don't get that coffee high like everyone else.

Caffeine, that drug in coffee that gives you a kick, is known as a stimulant and can make some people wired. But for those who drink it every single day, it tends to not even effect us. Our body is so used to caffeine that it doesn't even bother it anymore.

5. One cup is not enough.

The more casual drinkers will have just one small mug of the world's most addicting drink but for us hardcore fans, we have to have two or three or even more. One drink is simply not enough to satisfy our addiction.

6. Sometimes it's difficult to describe our feelings towards coffee.

A lot of people don't really understand how much and how deeply we love our daily beverage and, whenever we are asked as to why, we struggle trying to explain the feeling we get. It's a tradition and a part of life. It is so much more and people will just never understand.

7. It doesn't matter where we are, we need coffee.

Top of a mountain? Jail? It doesn't matter if we're in the middle of the ocean, we addicts still need that delicious dark roast (or blonde if you prefer it). This drink has become such a part of us and part of our lives that we just expect it to follow us wherever we go.

8. We constantly try to get our friends to join us.

We know that our friends don't like coffee. They prefer teas or something different to drink but that doesn't stop us from trying to convert them into the coffee life. We will even spend an entire day finding a perfect brew for a friend so they will join the coffee life.

9. We embrace the term "caffeine addict."

We are fully aware of what we are and we love that about us. At least we aren't addicted to some illegal drug that could easily kill you. Sure caffeine isn't great for you and it is considered a drug but at least it's accepted.

10. Coffee is more than a drink. It's a friend.

Boyfriend break up with you? Bad day at work? A perfect cure to anything is always our perfect drink. It's warm and inviting. It is always there for us, at any hour of the day, and does not judge. Coffee is truly one of the best friends someone could have.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
