Finally, it is Thanksgiving break. For most of us, it is a time to go home and spend time with those we care about. Often, it is also a time of reflection on the past year and our lives as a whole. Here is my own reflection, my list of the things I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving.

1. My family.

I know that I do not express it nearly enough, but I truly love my family. You have been there for me since day 1 (literally!). I truly would not be here, much less the person I am today, without you. So thank you. For everything.

2. My best friend.

Thank you for sticking with me through all of my ups and downs, the awkward years and the fun times. Honestly, you should be included with family. Thank you for all that you have done for me and with me.

3. My friends.

Thank you for the memories we have made and those we have yet to make. You all make life a little more sweet, spicy, and something to smile about.

4. My professors and teachers.

Thank you for the knowledge and opportunities you have shared with me in and out of the classroom. I am passionate about learning, and that quality of mine I definitely attribute to your influence.

5. My teammates, classmates, and peers.

I would not be who I am without the interactions and bonds I have made with you, no matter how big or small. Yes, even the smile you gave me once has contributed. So thank you.

6. Food, shelter, water, heating, air conditioning, internet, transportation, etc.

Some of these are essentials for basic living, and some of these are simply inventions that make life a little easier. But I do enjoy them, and am thankful that I have access to them.

7. My body.

We are our own harshest critics. And I definitely have not been appreciative enough of my own body for keeping me alive, healthy, and happy. So yes, thank you, self, for doing what you have been.

8. My brain.

You keep my body from doing stupid things. You entertain me. And no one understands me like you do. We are stuck together, for better or for worse.

9. Thanksgiving.

The parade, the food, the generally happy sentiments...thank you for providing me with a day to say thank you to everyone and everything.

10. Thanksgiving Break.

I just really need a break at this time of the year, so thank you for existing.

Safe travels and Happy Thanksgiving!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
