10 Things Single People Are Tired Of
Huntington Post

"All the single ladies, all the single ladies, put your hands up!" Welcome to the glamorous life of being single. Yes, you the one who is tired of being told over and over again by everyone you know and even don't know that your "one" will come when you least expect it. Single people everywhere are strong, independent, and free to do as they please.

As much fun as it is answering to no one but yourself, eating a whole pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream by yourself because Ben and Jerry are two very good men and enjoying pure freedom, being single has its downsides. For example, single people are shown much pity because clearly there is something wrong with someone who cannot find love in a muddy, dried up pond. Yes, the saying, "there are plenty fish in the sea, is a LIE."

Here's a list of things single people are TIRED of:

1. You see yet another 18-year-old getting married.

2. People always tell you "insert name" got married, didn't you graduate high-school with them?

3. You get told ALL the time by people you know and even complete strangers, "Oh, honey, you will find the one when you least expect it."

4. People tell you that you need to get out more because apparently, the "one" will not find you on your couch with a bag of chips.

5. The saying, "How's a pretty girl like you still single?" is forever burned into your brain.

6. Getting told you are single because you are too busy.

7. People always ask have you tried online dating?

8. Someone has said to you, (insert name) met her husband on Farmer's Only you should give it a try.

9. You loathe when people say they have the perfect guy to set you up with!

10. When someone says their husband's cousin's brother is single and they think you two would make a great couple.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
