10 Things To Remember About October
Life in Lowcountry

As we're drawing near the end of October, there are a few things that I know some people may miss:

1. Clowns

Believe it or not, some people will actually miss chasing after this weird guys. I remember some people in my dorm would actually go outside after midnight to go hunting for these people.

2. The Debate

October was full of the craziest debates that this nation has ever seen. If anyone looked on Twitter during the debate, they would see how bad people were talking about these two candidates. People compared them to the Purge movie and referred to them as the real clowns.

3. Crazy Ohio Weather

All throughout October, the weather has changed more than ten times. Although we established that it was fall towards the end of September it doesn't matter, the weather continued to change. There were days that we dressed up for cold weather because the past days were cold, then we stepped outside and found that it was extremely warm.

4. Breast Cancer Month

October is the well known month to wear pink for the survivors and people currently battling breast cancer. I just feel like it shouldn't be just one month to honor the tough women who battle breast cancer but I am glad we are recognizing them.

5. Costumes

As college students, we often stress about what our costumes are going to look like. The only reason is, it's 2016, we need to look our best but not spend too much money.

6. Decorations

Living in dorms, people tend to decorate their doors to fit the occasion. Even walking around campus to the stores or dining halls, they started decorating for the spooky season.

7. Midterm season

Well, many of the college kids probably won't miss this but we have to admit, we are glad this is over.

8. Pumpkin Spice

If there any Starbucks lovers out there, they would know that the seasons favorite came out during the month of October.

9. Pumpkin Patches

Well, speaking of pumpkins, this season called for many people to go to pumpkin patches, either with their friends or families.

10. Haunted Houses

If there are any Cincinnati people out there, they would know that the USS Nightmare is the creepiest haunted "House" Cincinnati has to offer. Although I have never been in there before, there are reasons why.

October was a month that was filled with great things and bad things, but I will say this month will be remembered.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
