The craziness, the chaos, and the never ending noise are just a few things you were used to when growing up with such a big family.
1. Knowing whose turn it was to do a chore was a task itself.
Your family had to create some sort of system to remember whose turn it was to take out the trash or there would be finger pointing to determine who had to take it out.
2. When the parents were gone, the oldest was in charge and everyone knew it.
Hearing the phrase, “You’re in charge,” being said to your older sibling was like nails on a chalkboard.
3. When cookies or any other treats were made, they were gone by the next day, if not in a few hours.
The familiar smell of mom’s chocolate chip cookies filled the house and a frenzy ensued.
4. Trying to remember all your siblings’ birthdays was a struggle.
You stopped trying to remember because you knew your parents would just end up reminding you like they always do.
5. As a child, you were often forgotten at places.
There were so many groceries to get and pay for that your mom forgot you at the store and it was the most traumatizing experience of your life.
6. Rivals and alliances were formed.
Your brother and sister would gang up on you and so you got back at them by forming an alliance with another sibling so you wouldn't be defenseless.
7. The house was never quiet.
It was hard to find peace and quiet with so many people living in the house.
8. Teachers compared you to your siblings.
It's like your teacher thought you were the same person!
9. Your mom often called you by your siblings' names.
10. You love all of your siblings and don't know what you'd do without them.
