10 Things All Notebook Addicts Know

1. You have a notebook for everything

One for a daily journal, one for dream records, one for writing prompts, one for recipes… Notebooks provide endless opportunities. A good notebook addict knows that they are not just good for daily record keeping; they can be used for anything.

2. You have more than a dozen unused notebooks…

You are not just a notebook lover, you are a notebook hoarder. You make sure that there is always a well-kept stock of notebooks in your hoard. It would be a shame to run out, especially if the apocalypse comes earlier than expected.

3. Yet you still buy more

There is probably someone in your life who tells you that you have enough notebooks, yet there you are, rummaging through the stationary aisle for more notebooks. You wouldn’t want to run out of stock.

4. Buying a new notebook is a timely process

You can't just buy any notebook, after all. There are very important things to consider. Paper quality, back pockets, cover design, hard-covered or paperback. You must take your time. A new notebook is a commitment.

5. You are equally charmed by both beautifully decorated notebooks and elegantly plain notebooks

Any good notebook addict knows that it’s not about what’s on the outside, it’s all about what’s on the inside. There is something lovely about those decorated one’s, as well as the most ordinary ones. There is a notebook for everything, so every notebook has its place.

6. The inside is important

The outside is nice, but everybody likes nice pages. There are so many kinds. Thick, light, lined, dotted lined, some with headers, and some with pockets. Everyone knows that different pages make different notebooks.

7. Spirals and compositions are a serious matter

Some think that they are just for school. Some think that they are a part of a classic style. Some people like them, some people don’t. There’s a chance that you have a strong opinion about them. Because a notebook becomes a part of the writer, it doesn’t matter what your notebook looks like. What works for you works for you.

8. You can’t just use any notebook

You may see the value and purpose of all notebooks, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll just use any. There are preferences and standards. All notebooks have their place, but they must be in the right place.

9. There’s a chance that you never leave the house without that one notebook

Have you ever left your home without something to take notes in? Yeah, me neither. Most people just use their phones for quick ideas, but some of use take our writing and stationary obsession too seriously for that. It’s a quirk to people who do not take notebooks as seriously, but to fellow enthusiasts, it is symbol of dedication.

10. It is a bittersweet moment when you finish a notebook

The end of a notebook is the end of a period of time. You get so used to writing in it and holding it that you are sad that its time is over. You are even apprehensive about starting a new one. What if the new one doesn’t live up to expectations? You know that a new notebook is a new beginning, so there’s always the excitement of a new notebook. A notebook is a journey, and a new notebook is a new adventure.

Keep being a notebook addict and write on.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
