The 2000s, an unforgettable decade that that has helped shaped my life and my generation's. It was filled with many excitements, terror, new beginnings, and disasters. From the election of Barrack Obama to hurricane Katrina to 9/11 to the invention of the iPhone. Not only these events shaped our generation to what it is today, but the trends that occurred did as well. There are some trends that, I, myself never left behind in coming into the 2010s. Here are the 10 trends and things that I never left behind in the 2000s.
1. Knowing every word to specific songs
I don't know about you all but I can still sing and rap verse to the remix to "Ignition," "Colt 45," "Mr. Brightside," "It Wasn't Me," and of course "Opps! I Did It Again".
2. Tube/crop tops
The recent reappearance of tube and crop tops is perfectly fine with me I love them!
3. Quoting "Mean Girls"
If you don't use, "thats so fetch," every once in awhile are you even a "Mean Girls" fan?
4. Belly button rings
I don't personally have one, but I know many people who still support the dangly belly button ring on occasions.
5. Burning CDs
I still enjoy searching for songs and burning CDs so my summer jams are in hand.
6. Uggs
Uggs are an essential piece to every girls wardrobe in the winter time.
7. Finding and using songs as your ringtone, alarm, and outgoing voicemail
Getting that perfect verse or song to have people hear when your phone was ringing is key to everyone knowing how cool you were.
8. Shopping at Hollister and Aeropostale
I still own a graph T-shirt and sweatshirt. Or two. Or five, from these places.
9. Using terms like...
"Like omg this m8s me LOL so much, but g2g ttyl."
10. Pre-game jams list is from the 2000s
When you are getting ready to go out your pre-game jams list consist of songs like "Tipsy," "Hot in Here, and "In Da Club."
