1. Wrap around porch

Aside from just the beauty of the look, a wrap around porch supplies the perfect amount of space for a relaxing hang out area. You can set up some chairs and a little table, or even a hammock.

2. Hammock

There's nothing quite as relaxing as laying down on a beautiful sunny day with a slight swing on a hammock. With a nice lemonade and a book, you can have a lovely inexpensive afternoon.

3. Fire pit

A fire pit is good for so many things. It's a great opportunity to invite your friends over, hang by the fire, and make some s'mores. With the stars out, sitting around the fire is a great hang out area to just chill with your friends and have a good bonding moment. Many memories are made around a bonfire.

4. Balcony

Balcony's add beauty and structure to a house. They also are the perfect escape for whatever craziness is going on within the house. Sometimes it’s nice to just take a step outside, feel the cool breeze, take a deep breath of fresh air and enjoy your quiet moment alone on top of the world.

5. Trellis over the driveway

Trellis’ add so much beauty and character to a home. They can be laced in ivy or flowers of your choice. To me, Trellis’ make a house seem more homier and cute. They’re something I slow down for on my drive by to stop and stare at.

6. Personalized mailbox and doormat

Each house is unique and different in their own way but by having a customized mailbox and doormat, the house becomes personalized. It shows the world a little bit of who you are and makes it more welcoming.

7. Twirled stairs

Twirled stairs are unique and old fashioned. They bring life and dimensions to a home making eyes pop.

8. Fireplace

Fireplaces are perfect to keep warm and cozy up in your home. In the winter, setting the fire is perfect for the whole family to sit around, listen to music, play board games, or just relax. Fireplaces send an essence through out the house and make a home feel homie.

9. Outdoor grill

Who doesn’t love a barbecue? They’re perfect for holidays or hang out with your friends. You can invite everyone over and grill up any meal. Especially when it’s nice out, barbecues are the best opportunity to have a good time with friends and family.

10. Pool/ hot tub

Cool water, hot summer, there’s simply nothing that can compete with the feeling of dipping into cold water on a sizzling-hot summer day. Swimming pools are pure fun for everyone! From Marco Polo and underwater capture-the-flag to diving contests and water polo, there’s no shortage of fun to be had in a backyard pool. A pool can also be used for a great swimming work out. Many pool owners also have attached hot tubs. Hot tubs can be very therapeutic way to bring down your stress levels and relax after a busy, stressful day. The hot water also offers several benefits to injuries and can just be very enjoyable to sit in with friends and enjoy a nice drink.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
