10 Things Manhattan College Students Are Thankful For

1. The 1 Train


When it’s up and working the 1 is the best way to get out and explore the world or hit the whip with some nice strangers.


2. Piper’s

What beats $30 for open bar and a burger and fries and lots of laughs???

3. Jasper Deli

Nothing is better than one of those drunk sandwiches after a nice night out or an order of mozzarella sticks when you’re in the library until 3 a.m.


4. Riv City

Although people claim to hate it, we all low key love Riv and the sweaty mosh pit like fun every Saturday.

5. JasperNet

I’m just kidding…But for the hot five minutes it works, it’s pretty cool.

6. Ethernet Cables

For when JasperNet fails over and over and over


7. Gypsy Taxis

Nothing is better than walking to the train station and being offered rides from the taxi drivers. Although they are arguably just their personal cars, the Gypsy Taxis are a super cheap and fast way to get to where you need to go.

8. Jasper Dollars

Occasionally Lockes just doesn’t cut it so it’s nice to have some options (Thankfully McDonald’s just started accepting Jasper Dollars)

9. Parkview Sports

What’s better than cheap Manhattan College apparel?????? (Sorry bookstore but I’m not dropping $50 on a sweatshirt I’ll probably ruin)

10. The Library

Let’s face it you won’t get much accomplished in your room.

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
