10 Things I Love About New York City

I love New York City. To me New York City symbolizes hope, dreams and opportunity for anyone. New York City is more than home to be, it is my happy place. Sure there are flaws, I cannot find one thing I dislike about the city. Coincidentally I seem to love all of the things that people don't like. So here is why I love New York City:

1. The smell of pollution

You might as well embrace it!

2. The rude people

Yeah, I don't have an explanation for all of the attitude and sassiness, but just be aware because its common in the City.

3. The congestion

This is what every street corner looks like, so I hope you're not claustrophobic.

4. The hustle and bustle

Work. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

5. The endless amount of stores

Don't go to 5th Avenue it's a trap.

6. The endless amount of restaurants of course (huge foodie)

Too many options, not enough stomach space.

7. The "wonderful" public transportation

I can't even lie theres nothing nice about the subway, but get used to it because cabs are too expensive.

8. The mysterious Empire State Building colors

The highlight of my week...trying to figure out why/which colors will light the top of the Empire State Building that night.

9. The sports teams

Games are never dull.

10. The endless amount of opportunities

The city has endless opportunities out there for everyone!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
