Dear Diary,

Today is the day we all realize how much of a blessing Mia Thermopolis was in our lives growing up. She taught us so many lessons about how we should act, and how to handle any situation that comes our way (especially if it is being surprised with our royal heritage as we all secretly hope will happen someday). We now are able to hold our heads high and make it through gym class, even though hand-eye coordination is not our strong point. She taught us about what it means to be a true friend, and how to properly apologize when we make a mistake (pizza with m&m's of course). Here are the 10 best lessons we learned from Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldi, Princess of Genovia.

1. A secret handshake is key to any real friendship.

2. Attempting to change in the back of the car is never worth it.

3. Your mom should be one of your best friends.

4. A kiss isn't real unless your foot pops.

5. Celebrate the small victories.

6. Just because you feel invisible doesn't mean you aren't royalty.

7. It's important to stand up against bullies.

8. Don't blow off your real friends for pretenders.

9. It's okay to be unsure of yourself.

10. Sometimes the best answer to a big decision comes when thinking of others.

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
