Yes, a good portion of the world's population celebrates Christmas, which is great. However, for us Jewish people we can't always relate to all of the shenanigans during the holiday season. So here is a list of #justjewishthings we experience during the holidays.
1. Changing famous Christmas song lyrics to apply to Hannukah.
More like, all I want for Hannukah is Jew! Jeeew, baby.
2. Getting hyped about Asian take-out to enjoy on Christmas Eve.
I don't know about you, but I am so excited to scarf down vegetable lo-mein.
3. The FOMO.
ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I just want to join in on the holiday fun
4. Not understanding the story behind Christmas.
Fun Fact: I had my camp counselor explain the story of Christmas to me when I was nine because I was extremely confused.
5. The excitement that comes with decorating a Hannukah bush.
Sad about not being able to decorate a Christmas tree? Decorate a Hannukah bush.
6. The awkward moment when people say Merry Christmas and you don't know how to respond.
7. Binge watching Christmas movies because there is nothing else on.
No shame in this game, considering this is one of the few representations of Jewish holidays in mainstream media.
8. Buying Christmas theme products because... why not?
I'm a big sucker for Christmas themed lattes at Starbucks, TBH.
9. Being some of the few people at the airport on Christmas.
It's truly so quiet and awkward. Plus I always feel so bad for the people working :(
10. Still getting hype for Christmas cause it's a fun holiday.
Sometimes it is just fun to experience Christmas, without celebrating it.
