Hi, everyone! I'm writing this article from Cancun, Mexico. My family is on vacation to celebrate some big milestones in our lives. I'm so blessed to be here with my family and to be having fun. I don't know about you, but being on vacation gives me a different mindset than when I'm home. I wanted to write about something that would help all of you out there while you prepare for the summer months ahead and for the change of mindset that awaits. Regardless of if you're going on a vacation, some of these things I've learned can apply to you when you're attempting to enjoy your summer (it's not called summer vacation for nothing).

1) Don't overpack

My suitcase may or may not have been 12 pounds over the 50 pound limit. While unpacking, I realized I didn't need half of it. Take a look at what's in your suitcase and make some decisions! It's not worth paying the $100 fee for an overweight bag, trust me.

2) RELAX

This is a vacation, treat it as such! You owe it to yourself to eliminate stress and become relaxed.

3) Have a drink, or two, or four

Only if you're of age, of course.

4) Don't let people get under your skin

This is your time to unwind and relax, forget those other people who are bothering you. Let it go, you're on a freaking vacation. Ditch the side-comments and turn up that beach playlist.

5) Value family

They might get on your nerves, but you love them just the same. Enjoy this time with them!

6) Disconnect from home

Leave the home drama behind! Shut your phone off! This is time to be with family, the rest can wait until your vacation is over!

7) Wear sunscreen

I'm as pale as can be. No, seriously, they don't make foundation light enough. Anyways, don't let Stewie be you! Protect yourself from the sun and bring plenty of sunscreen!

8) Get out of your comfort zone

Do something you normally wouldn't do/ would be afraid to do! I can think of no better time than on vacation! What have you got to lose?

9) Indulge in a good book

With all that time laying by the beach/ pool, you can read! I know it's hard to read in the midst of your everyday life, but this isn't your typical everyday life! Treat yourself with a good book!

10) EAT ALL THE FOOD

Forget about that diet you're on! It's ok to indulge every once in a while. Whether or not that's taking it to Patrick's extreme is completely up to you.

Hope you enjoyed the 10 things that I've learned while on vacation! Go and enjoy your summer!

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
