10. Their stuff
I'd like to think I made this house a home, but you did turn the empty space into a house. If you didn't buy that dining table and chairs, we would've had to eat on the couch...that you also brought.
9. Their smells
You own some lovely and efficient/potent perfumes and body sprays and it's become a natural part of my life. It's comforting and uniquely yours. Also, thanks for the Glade plugin. I know green apple is neither one of our scents, but it masks the kitchen trash smell just wonderfully.
8. Their family
The saying 'mi casa es tu casa' doesn't apply to us because we have to share a living space, but when your family takes me in...that's where it's at. We can watch cable at your fam's place, eat, and not do dishes. Your mom can send you over with goodies, for free! Your dad can come and fix the things we can't.
7. They help me become 'better'
I'm watching you. Not in a creepy way, but I see what you're watching, reading, listening to, eating, etc. And sometimes that makes me wanna step up my fashion game or my consumption of citrus fruits. And it's often all for the best.
6. Constant contact
You live right across the kitchen from me. Nuff' said.
5. They know this place
You grew up around here and you have a car. And if you're out or don't know something, I end up learning other ways of transportation and places to do and get things - so win, win.
4. We (sorta) suffer together
Sure we're different majors and work different jobs, but the struggle is still the same year by year. And we always try to help each other out.
3. They deposit rent
I can't just give anyone that big check. And you deliver, on time, always.
2. They eat what I cook
All a person wants is for others to eat their homemade food. Edible validation is quite nice.
1. Them
You're my friend. I chose you and you chose me (and this apartment). So when I leave, it's like leaving you behind. No matter how much I make this house a home, it's not a home without you.
